We depart Indianapolis today for our 7th International Heart Mission, but our 1st mission to Kampala, Uganda.  There are 13 persons making the long trip from Indianapolis to JFK to Amsterdam to Entebbe in Uganda with the goal of operating on 10 children with congenital heart defects at Mulago Hospital.  The trip is roughly 7,700 miles and about 20 hours of travel time.   Uganda is a beautiful country, set on the equator with a population of 31,300, 000.  The capital city of Uganda is Kampala, which is where we will be working this week. 

The team consists of:

Dr. Mark Turrentine, Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon

Dr. Osama Eltayeb, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Fellow

Dr. Tim Cordes, Pediatric Cardiologist

Dr. Scott Walker, Pediatric Anesthesiologist

Dr. Stephanie Kinnaman, Family Practitioner

Becky Clark, R.N.  – Operating Room Nurse

Jill Riley, R.N. – Operating Room Nurse

Heidi Harris, R.N. – ICU Nurse

Katie Snyder, R.N. – ICU Nurse

Megan Richards, R.N. – ICU Nurse
